The phenomenon of youth unemployment is very widespread in Europe and in the partner countries, and can have very dangerous consequences for young people, such as psychological disorders, social exclusion and proximity to juvenile delinquency.
The project intends to involve two specific groups:
1
Young NEET: aged between18 to 24 years, in particular the ones with a low level of education, with a preference for women (around 65-70% of participants).
2
Young workers: active workers aged between25 and 30 years with at least 2 years of experience working with young people, in particular the ones working in rural areas (around 60% of participants), since they are the most affected by youth unemployment. Preferably, people with experience in sport or in non-formal education and commit to participating in both non-formal education and sport activities.
Steps
The project was approved by the EU commission in 2022.
The project has a duration of 36 months.
Collaboration of 3 partners from the EU (Italy, Croatia, Germany) and 3 from Lebanon, Tunisia and Jordan.
The implementation started in 2023.
The partners will work together to develop a training manual for youth workers using sport & non-formal education to enhance young people’s soft skills useful for moving into the world of work.
We foresee the realization of 3 international training activities to test the manual with the target groups.
1
First, the manual will be presented to youth worker during the first mobility in Jordan. The participants will test the activities and provide useful feedbacks during the Training course.
2
The transnational Youth Exchange will take place in Tunisia where young people from all partner countries will meet. At the same time, the Youth Exchange will serve the crucial goal of providing an international frame where to test the methodologies and learning outcomes of the manual.
3
Lastly, the last mobility will be a job shadowing. It will take place in Lebanon: participants will be able to test the skills learned during training by contributing to local activities and community.
In addition, each partner will adapt the activities to their own language and cultural context and will organize a local workshop with the young people of the city in which they operate.
Two tangible products will be created during the project:
An educational manual
A documentary video of the activities aimed at young people.
